Since 1937, this has been a private reserve in the ancient tamarind forest of the Mandradre river, now of world renown and also featuring an Atandroy museum.
Since that day, lemurs living here have mostly lost their fear of man, and are easier to observe. Birds, butterflies, chameleons and tortoises, bats and numerous other animals from the Malagasy south are a joy to witness.
The restaurant seats 100 guests, and there is also a bar, cafeteria, boutique and laundry service.
